Lil Lewis was introduced to the pet care and grooming business
in 1966 working as an apprentice to her brother Joe who is a renowned breeder and groomer of Shih Tzu's and Poodles. As a
pioneer and striving young entrepreneur she opened her first
Canine Carousel
salon in Annandale VA, in 1977. With intermit success and an overwhelming demand for her expertise; she opened her second salon in 1995 in Herndon where
she and her daughters are currently located.

Lil's personal drive for professional excellence has resulted
in her by becoming a certified Master Groomer by the
National Groomers Association and Canine Animal Hygienist.
In 1995, she took the position of Vice President of the Virginia Groomers Association. Subsequently Lil was appointed President from 1996-2001.

WETA (a local channel) featured her expertise on several
episodes highlighting pet grooming and the rapidly expanding
pet industry. Lil has also been an honorable guest judge in
grooming contest.

As a family owned and operated business, Lil is accompanied by her four daughters whom assist with daily operational and management activities. Three of the four daughters are experts in their field and excel in the art of "hand scissoring".
Each have multiple years of experience, on going education and take pride in their profession. Annually, the team attends educational classes and hands-on courses
to expand their trade knowledge and stay attuned to industry trends.

Proud of their notable accolades, Canine Carousel in routinely featured in the
"Washingtonian" magazine who has rated Canine Carousel consistently as one
of the top salons in the greater Washington metropolitan area. Canine Carousel longevity and popularity is a testament to the quality and consistency of care and attention extended
to every client.

In 2001, Lil made a difficult decision to sell the Annandale location, so she and
her daughters could all give their undivided time and effort to the Herndon location
